Tax Free in Spain and Italy: Who Manages VAT | STAMP

In both Spain and Italy, Tax Free providers operate under one of two models.
Global Blue, Planet, Innova Tax Free (Epay Taxfree), Travel Tax Free, Woonivers, Tax Refund, and Forexchange operate a tax refund model. Under this model, the traveler pays the full price including VAT at checkout, completes a Tax Free form, and receives the VAT back afterward, either at the airport, at a refund office, or through a digital claim once they've left the store.
STAMP operates a different model. VAT is removed at the point of purchase, so the traveler pays the tax-free price directly in the store rather than paying VAT upfront and reclaiming it later.
Both models are often called Taxfree but they slightly work differently.
